About Rutilated Quartz

Rutilated quartz is quartz containing needle shaped inclusions of the mineral rutile. The needles usually look golden, sometimes silver, red or black, and the stone is prized for these inclusions rather than in spite of them. Tourmalinated quartz is a close relative, with black tourmaline needles in place of rutile.
