Split open to show hollow chambers lined with druzy, each of these Triassic ammonites comes as a matched pair of halves.
Display the halves side by side on a shelf, desk or in a cabinet, or give the pair to a fossil collector or science lover. The chambers follow the spiral of the shell, and the druzy sparkles inside.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. You receive both halves. Pairs are about 2.75 to 4.125 inches across and weigh 205 to 516 grams together, with sizes listed below. They were found in Timor, Indonesia.
Ammonites are extinct coiled shell marine cephalopods whose shells were divided into chambers by walls with intricate suture patterns. They are more closely related to octopus, squid and cuttlefish than to the nautilus, and they died out around the end Cretaceous extinction about 66 million years ago.
