HE-SMOF-37-A
Rainbow color moves across the Ethiopian opal at the center of this ring as your hand turns, framed by delicate sterling silver detailing.
Wear it as an everyday ring that still feels special, pair it with other silver pieces, or give it for an anniversary or an October birthday, since opal is the October birthstone.
The setting is 925 sterling silver. Choose size 6, 8, 9 or 10. Each opal is natural, so the pattern and color of the flashes vary slightly from the photos.
Most Ethiopian opal in the gem trade comes from the Wollo, or Welo, deposit near Wegeltena, found in 2008. Opal is a hydrous form of silica with a hardness of about 5.5 to 6, softer than most ring stones, and its name is believed to come from the Sanskrit upala through the Greek opallios.
Stone Meaning: Opal is traditionally associated with hope and creativity.
