Cut flat into small platters, Utah septarian shows off its cracked, partitioned pattern on a surface you can actually use.
All eight are slabs of similar thickness, so the choice comes down to shape and pattern. Options 3, 6 and 8 are the most square, 5 is the narrowest, and 8 is a touch thicker than the rest. Use one as a coaster under a plant pot, a ring dish on a dresser, or a small display base for a crystal on your desk. They also work well as a set: buy two or three with different patterns and group them on a shelf. Septarian is sometimes called dragon stone, which makes it a fun gift for anyone who likes that name. Pick your number from the photos.
Septarian nodules are carbonate rich concretions whose blocks are separated by mineral filled cracks that taper toward the rim. The filling is usually calcite, sometimes browned by organic compounds from the original sediment, and despite their look they are geological formations, not dinosaur eggs.
Stone Meaning: Septarian is traditionally associated with steadiness and communication.
