Deep, rich blue raw azurite, named for its azure color, is hand sorted into small, medium and large sizes. The shop selects a richly colored stone for each order.
Choose 1, 5, 10 or 20 stones in small (about 0.25 to 1 inch), medium (about 0.5 to 1.5 inches) or large (about 0.75 to 2 inches). Display them in a specimen box, add them to a collection, or use them in grids and decor. Some pieces are long and thin and others short and wide, and depth varies too.
Azurite is soft, rated 3.5 to 4 on the Mohs scale, and it can slowly alter to green malachite, so keep it dry, out of direct sun and away from harder stones. It is not suited to tumbling or everyday jewelry wear. Wash your hands after handling raw mineral specimens, and keep them away from children who might put them in their mouths.
Azurite is a copper carbonate mineral known for its deep blue to violet-blue color. It has a Mohs hardness of 3.5 to 4, is often found with malachite, and slowly weathers to malachite over time.
Stone Meaning: Azurite is traditionally associated with insight and intuition.
