HE-CRY07
This one small point brings together natural citrine, Lemurian striations and black tourmaline.
The black tourmaline rods sit inside the tip, where light passing through the pale, clear yellow quartz shows them best, and the horizontal Lemurian lines run across the faces. It came from the Minas Gerais region of Brazil, the same state where Lemurian quartz was first marketed in the late 1990s. The point has been glued to a clear acrylic base, so it stands upright and displays museum style on a shelf, a desk or in a cabinet. It makes a thoughtful gift for a November birthday, an October birthday thanks to the tourmaline, or a collector who prefers natural color to heated stones. This is the exact point shown.
The point is about 3.125 by 2 by 2 inches on a base of about 2 by 2 by 0.375 inches, and the whole piece weighs about 100 grams. Look at the ruler photo for scale.
Citrine is yellow to orange quartz, and most citrine on the market is heat treated amethyst, which is why natural color matters to collectors. Lemurian is a market name for quartz with horizontal growth striations on alternating prism faces, first marketed in the late 1990s from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Schorl, the black variety, is the most common tourmaline and grows as long, striated prisms.
Stone Meaning: Citrine is traditionally associated with optimism and abundance.
