Lepidolite usually shows up as flaky mica, yet these two rough stones have rounded, bubbly surfaces known as botryoidal formations.
The word botryoidal comes from the Greek for a bunch of grapes, and that is the texture you see across the surface of each stone. Stone A is the longer of the pair at about 5.75 inches, a wide piece that sits low, while stone B is more upright, about 4 inches long and 4.25 inches tall. Either suits a collector who wants lepidolite beyond the usual tumbled or polished forms, and it makes a good gift for someone who already owns a polished piece and would enjoy the raw texture. Each stone is labeled in its own photo, with both shown together next to a ruler. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each lettered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Stone A is about 5.75 by 3.5 by 3.625 inches tall; stone B is about 4 by 3.5 by 4.25 inches tall.
Lepidolite is a lithium bearing mica, the most abundant lithium mineral, and its lilac to pink purple color comes from trace manganese. Botryoidal means grape cluster shaped, from the Greek botrys, a bunch of grapes. Like other micas, lepidolite is soft, about 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale.
Stone Meaning: Lepidolite is traditionally associated with calm and transition.
