Two small labradorite figures are offered here, a Buddha and a Ganesha, both carved by hand.
D is the Buddha, the taller and slimmer of the pair, while E is Ganesha, shorter but thicker through the body, which suits the rounded elephant form. The small carved details reward a close look, so place your figure where you will see it up close: a meditation corner, a yoga space or the edge of a desk. Labradorite can show a play of color that moves as you turn the stone, and a spot near a window or lamp brings it out. Ganesha is traditionally honored at the start of new ventures, which makes E a fitting gift for a new job, a move or a business opening.
Labradorite is a plagioclase feldspar named after Labrador, Canada, where it was described in 1770. Its flashes of color, called labradorescence, come from light reflecting off internal twinning surfaces. Buddha figures traditionally show elongated earlobes and the ushnisha, the rounded top of the head that symbolizes wisdom, while Ganesha is the elephant headed Hindu deity revered as the remover of obstacles.
Stone Meaning: Labradorite is traditionally associated with intuition and transformation.
