These large rough kyanite specimens show striking blue blades still attached to the matrix they grew in.
Give one a place on a mantel, credenza or shelf where its length can be appreciated, or choose it as a centerpiece for a mineral collection. At 11 to 13 inches long, each is a substantial natural sculpture.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Specimens are about 11 to 13 inches long, and each size is listed below.
Kyanite is an aluminum silicate that forms long, bladed crystals, most often blue. Its hardness varies by direction, about 4.5 to 5 along the blade and 6.5 to 7 across it, and it has perfect cleavage, so the blades can split.
Stone Meaning: Blue kyanite is traditionally associated with alignment and communication.
