Pink and black make a bold pair, and it is hard to imagine two stones with more contrast. Here black tourmaline crystals grow right through raw rose quartz, creating a specimen that is striking from every angle.
It makes a meaningful gift for a couple, a friend who balances tenderness with strength, or anyone who loves both stones. On a shelf or desk, it is an instant conversation piece that looks completely different from a plain rose quartz chunk.
Each lettered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Specimens are about 3.8 to 4.6 inches long, 2.75 to 4 inches wide and 2.5 to 3.25 inches tall.
Black tourmaline, or schorl, is the most common tourmaline and has a hardness of 7 to 7.5. Rose quartz owes its pink color to microscopic fibrous inclusions and has a hardness of 7. When the two grow together, the black crystals stand out sharply against the pink.
Stone Meaning: Black tourmaline is traditionally associated with protection, and rose quartz with love.
