Carved from black onyx and set with shell and gemstone inlays, these elephants are cheerful, colorful little figures.
The inlays vary from elephant to elephant and may include abalone, red jasper, goldstone, blue goldstone, green quartz, tigers eye, chalcedony and howlite, so no two look alike. Goldstone and blue goldstone are man made glittering glass rather than natural stones, which is worth knowing if you want only natural materials. All six are about 4.1 to 4.5 inches tall and weigh about 0.25 to 0.29 kilograms, a size that suits a desk, a curio cabinet or a windowsill. An elephant figurine is a warm gift for a new home, a retirement or anyone who collects elephants, and the mix of colors makes it easy to pair with other crystals. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Heights run from about 4.125 to 4.5 inches, with weights between 0.25 and 0.29 kilograms; each one is listed below.
True onyx is banded chalcedony, and most black onyx on the market is chalcedony that has been color treated. Abalone shell has a thick inner layer of nacre in silvery to blue, green and purple tones and is widely used for inlay. Goldstone is man made glittering glass; blue goldstone uses cobalt for its deep blue with silvery sparkle.
Stone Meaning: Black onyx is traditionally associated with strength and focus.
