Plain white howlite takes on an iridescent rainbow sheen once it is given an angel aura finish, and this tall obelisk shows off that effect.
The tower is carved from white howlite, a stone known for its gray web veining, and then treated with a platinum coating, which is what creates the shifting iridescent color. The coating is a thin surface film, so the sheen comes from the treatment, not from the stone itself. At about 10 inches tall and slim at about 2 inches wide, it has an elegant, upright profile for a mantel, a bookshelf, an altar or a vanity. It was carved and shaped into a polished point by artisans in Brazil. As a gift it suits someone who loves aura crystals, iridescent decor or a light, airy look. This is the exact tower shown.
The tower is about 10 by 2 by 1.75 inches.
Howlite is a calcium borosilicate mineral, naturally white with fine gray to black web veins, and about 3.5 on the Mohs scale. Aura finishes are made by vapor deposition: a metal film only a micron or two thick is bonded to the stone in a vacuum chamber, and that thin film bends light into iridescent color.
Stone Meaning: Howlite is traditionally associated with patience and calm.
