A large crescent moon cut from agate in southern Brazil and drilled for hanging, about 3 inches long and 1 to 1.25 inches wide.

Choose blue, black, purple, pink, natural or teal. Hang it on a chain or cord as a bold pendant, wire wrap it, or use it as a window charm, wall hanging or car decoration. Several colors together make a striking moon phase display.

Bright agate colors are dyed; the natural option is undyed. Agate is hard and durable. Each moon varies in size and banding.

About Agate

Agate is a translucent, banded variety of microcrystalline quartz, rated 7 on the Mohs scale. Its bands form as silica is deposited layer by layer inside a rock cavity. Agate is slightly porous, so it takes dye well, which is how most vividly colored agate carvings and decor pieces in the trade are made.
