Crystals do not have to be serious. These agate mushrooms were carved and polished in Brazil into a whimsical toadstool shape, with druzy crystal and banded chalcedony on each one.
Light blue chalcedony with white banding frames the crystals, and the polished, rounded shape makes each crystal mushroom easy to hold and fun to arrange with plants, on a shelf or in a terrarium style display. They are a cheerful gift for a gardener, a cottagecore fan or anyone who collects whimsical crystal carvings. Mushrooms 1 and 2 are the same size, about 3.75 inches across, while 3 and 4 are a little larger and thicker, so you can choose by size or by the pattern you like best in the photos. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Sizes run from about 3.75 by 3.75 by 0.75 inches for 1 and 2 up to about 4.25 by 4 by 1 inches for 4. Look at the ruler photo for scale.
A geode starts as a hollow cavity in rock. Mineral rich groundwater seeps in and deposits silica in layers, forming the banded agate shell, and the last of it can crystallize as druzy, a coating of fine crystals that line the hollow. Agate is microcrystalline quartz, about 7 in hardness, so it takes a smooth polish.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
