Silky white selenite is shaped into a slim pencil point, about 29 by 5 millimeters, and drilled near the top so it hangs as a pendant or earring drop.
The 1 millimeter hole suits fine wire, head pins and small jump rings. Use one as a dainty necklace, pair two for earrings, or add them to crystal grids. Choose 1, 5 or 10; larger packs lower the price per bead, and bulk pricing is available on request.
Selenite is very soft and water sensitive, so it is best for pieces that will not get wet or rubbed. Take it off before washing hands or swimming, and store it away from harder stones. Each point varies slightly.
Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, a hydrous calcium sulfate. With a Mohs hardness of only 2, it scratches easily and should be kept dry. Much of the silky white material sold as selenite is satin spar, the fibrous variety of gypsum.
Stone Meaning: Selenite is traditionally associated with calm and clarity.
