Bands of purple, green and clear fluorite sweep through this polished point in feathery patterns, so every side looks different.
Choose 100 to 200 grams or 200 to 300 grams; heavier points are larger. Set it on a desk, study area or shelf, or add it to a fluorite collection. The hand and ruler photos show the size.
Fluorite is soft, rated 4 on the Mohs scale, and has perfect cleavage, so handle it gently, avoid knocks, and keep it away from harder stones. Small holes and natural inclusions are part of the stone. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth, and keep it out of hot sun and away from sudden temperature changes.
Fluorite is calcium fluoride, a halide mineral that defines hardness 4 on the Mohs scale. It is typically purple, green and yellow, often in bands, and many specimens glow blue-violet under UV light.
Stone Meaning: Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus and clarity.
