This cathedral is a big example of pink amethyst, one of the newer finds in the crystal world.
This large pink amethyst cathedral is a deep, wide section of geode, about 11 inches front to back, so the crystal lined hollow has real depth and catches light far inside. The blush color is attributed to microscopic hematite in the quartz, and it ranges softer and warmer than the purple most people picture when they hear amethyst. With a cut base and a weight of about 33.5 kilograms, it stands steadily and is meant to stay put: a living room console, a wellness studio, a reception area or a dedicated spot on the floor. It is a centerpiece for a whole room rather than a shelf accent. The pink amethyst cathedral in the photos is the one you receive.
The cathedral is about 13 inches tall, 10 inches wide and 11 inches deep and weighs about 33.5 kilograms (about 74 pounds). A ruler photo shows the scale.
Pink amethyst is quartz whose blush color is attributed to microscopic hematite inclusions. It came to market around 2017, mined mainly in Patagonia, Argentina. A cathedral is a tall section of a geode, cut so it stands upright with its crystal lined hollow facing out, and geodes form as mineral rich groundwater slowly deposits crystal inside a cavity.
Stone Meaning: Pink amethyst is traditionally associated with compassion and calm.
