Collectors who follow English fluorite will recognize the name Lady Annabella straight away.
This cluster of green cubic fluorite comes from the Sherry Twins Pocket of the Bull Vein at the Lady Annabella Mine in England, and it carries several large crystals with translucent deep green color set on a dark brown matrix. Known pocket and vein details matter to collectors, because they tie a specimen to a specific find. At about 3 inches across and 400 grams, it fits a display cabinet, a shelf riser or a desk, and the cubes catch light from every angle. Many fluorites glow under UV light, so it is worth trying with a blacklight. It makes a thoughtful gift for a mineral collector or anyone with English roots. This is the exact specimen shown.
The specimen is about 3.125 by 3 by 2.25 inches and weighs about 0.4 kilograms.
Fluorite is calcium fluoride, the mineral that defines hardness 4 on the Mohs scale, and it occurs in a wide range of colors. The Lady Annabella Mine sits in Weardale, County Durham, England, in the former Eastgate Quarry, and has been worked for fluorite specimens by UK Mining Ventures since July 2020. Named pockets in its Bull Vein are recorded for the specimens they produce.
Stone Meaning: Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus and clarity.
