This green fluorite cube holds a room on its own. It stands over nine inches tall and weighs more than 24 pounds.
A cube is a fitting shape for fluorite, since the mineral naturally crystallizes in a cubic habit, but a polished block over nine inches tall is a very different thing from a thumbnail specimen. Set it on a console table, a credenza or a low plinth in an office, and the polished faces show the green from every side. The close up photo shows the detail on one face, the home decor photos show it styled in a room, and the side view shows its thickness. At over 24 pounds it stays exactly where you place it, which makes it a confident centerpiece for a lobby, a design studio or a reading room. The cube in the photos is the one you will receive.
Size: about 9.125 inches tall, 8.5 inches wide and 6.5 inches thick, with a weight of over 24 pounds (roughly 11 kilograms or more). The ruler photo gives a clear sense of scale.
Fluorite is calcium fluoride, and the Mohs scale uses it to define hardness 4. It crystallizes in a cubic habit, though octahedral forms also occur, and it comes in purple, green, yellow, blue and colorless varieties. Many specimens glow blue violet under UV light.
Stone Meaning: Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus and clarity.
