Cut crosswise from amethyst stalactites, these small dark slices show rich purple rings around a central core.
Wire wrap one into a pendant, set it in a bezel or ring blank, set it in resin or mixed media art, or keep a few as collector pieces. At about an inch across, they suit dainty jewelry and small projects.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Slices are about 1 by 1 inch and 0.25 inch thick and weigh 5 to 10 grams. The ruler photo shows the scale of each.
Amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt, and some of the best known come from mines near Artigas, Uruguay. Slicing across them reveals rings of chalcedony and amethyst around the core, a growth pattern much like the rings of a tree.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and intuition.
