You want amethyst in the living room, but not a geode that crowds the shelf.
This slab is a good middle size, about 20.5 inches by 18 inches and 7 inches deep, so it has width without a lot of depth. Purple amethyst crystals share the slab with jasper, and the semi polished finish leaves some natural texture while smoothing other surfaces. It rests on a metal stand, so it can go straight onto a bookcase, a credenza, a mantel or a wide hall table. Its proportions are close to square, which makes it easy to center on a surface. As a housewarming or February birthday gift it feels personal and lasting. The slab in the photos is the one you will receive.
Measurements are about 20.5 by 18 by 7 inches.
About Amethyst and Jasper
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz, colored by trace iron exposed to natural radiation, and it is the modern birthstone for February. Jasper is an opaque, fine grained variety of silica whose red and brown tones come from iron. In Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and neighboring Artigas, Uruguay, amethyst forms in large geodes within volcanic rock.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
