Purple amethyst druzy wings with calcite formations bring two minerals together in one tall piece on a custom black metal stand.
The calcite is the detail to look for. One photo shows a hand beside a calcite formation, which gives you an honest sense of how large those growths are, and the close ups show the amethyst clusters packed across each wing. At 3 feet 2 inches wide and 8 inches thick, the pair has width and depth to match its height. They suit a reception area, a design showroom, a large entry hall or a meditation room with high ceilings. Over 280 pounds of stone ship in a custom made crate. For a collector who already owns amethyst clusters, the calcite growths make this pair different from a standard geode. These are the exact wings shown.
The piece is about 5 feet 11 inches tall, 3 feet 2 inches wide and 8 inches thick overall, with a base of about 2 feet 3.75 inches by 2 feet 3 inches. It weighs over 280 pounds.
Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation. Calcite, calcium carbonate, often crystallizes later in the same geode pockets, leaving calcite crystals perched on the purple points. Calcite is much softer than quartz, 3 on the Mohs scale, so those areas deserve gentler handling.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
