UOOAK-TBL1-01
Anchoring a whole room is the job this large amethyst cluster on its metal stand was built for.
Alongside the purple crystal cluster, the piece features a long druzy stalactite, and on that stalactite sits a double terminated calcite crystal, pointed at both ends. That combination shows several stages of growth inside one cavity, which is what makes it a conversation piece rather than just decor. It comes mounted on a metal stand, so the stalactite and cluster are held up for viewing. At about 19 inches long and 19 pounds, it is sized for a console table, a reception area, a large bookcase or a collector's display. It is a substantial gift for a February birthday, a milestone anniversary or a new home. This is the exact cluster and stand shown.
The piece is about 19 by 8 by 11.25 inches and weighs about 8.6 kilograms (19 pounds).
Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation. Stalactites form as mineral rich water drips and deposits layer after layer, and amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt, well known from mines near Artigas, Uruguay. Calcite, calcium carbonate, often crystallizes later in the same pockets; it is soft, 3 on the Mohs scale.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
