Honesty first: this amethyst portal was broken at some point and glued back together, and that is why it is sold as is.
Look closely at the photos before buying, and keep the repair in mind. What remains is a slice of amethyst geode with raw, natural edges and a purple crystal center, about nine inches across, which still displays well on a shelf, a mantel or an altar. If a flawless piece matters to you, this is not the one; if you want a sizable portal and can live with a visible mend, it is a sensible choice. Amethyst is the February birthstone. Photos show it with a ruler and among decor. This exact portal, repair and all, is what ships.
It measures about 9 by 7 by 2 inches.
About Amethyst Portals and Slabs
An amethyst portal or slab is a cross section cut from an amethyst geode, a hollow rock whose cavity was slowly lined with crystal by mineral rich groundwater. Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation, and Brazil and Uruguay are major sources of geode amethyst.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
