This box holds six seer stones, each in a different stone: rose quartz, amethyst, crystal quartz, apatite, green quartz and orange calcite. Each measures about 30 by 24 by 20 millimeters to 35 by 28 by 22 millimeters.

Seer stones take their name from the Ema River in Brazil, where stones in this style were first found. They are tumbled and have a clear window you can look into. Scrying is the practice of gazing into a stone or other object during quiet reflection. These stones were tumbled by people, not by the river, but they are natural stones. Orange calcite and apatite are softer than quartz, so store the set in its box. Each stone varies in size and window.

About the Stones

Rose quartz, amethyst, crystal quartz and green quartz are all quartz, rated 7 on the Mohs scale. Apatite is a phosphate mineral that defines 5 on the Mohs scale, and calcite is softer still, at 3.
