Need a clean, bright base for your crystals? A round selenite plate gives spheres, tumbled stones and jewelry a soft white stage to sit on.
Set it on a dresser as a ring and bracelet tray, use it as the center of a crystal grid, or keep it on an altar or nightstand to hold your daily stones. The 4 inch plate suits a small cluster of tumbles or a few rings; the 6 inch plate has room for a sphere on a stand and a handful of crystals around it. Its simple round shape fits almost any decor, from minimal to boho.
Choose small, about 4 inches (10 centimeters) across, or large, about 6 inches (15 centimeters). Each plate is carved from natural selenite and polished, so translucency and surface marks vary.
Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, named for Selene, the Greek goddess of the moon, for its soft pearly luster. It is very soft, 2 on the Mohs scale, and slowly dissolves in water. Much of what is sold as selenite is satin spar, the fibrous, silky variety of gypsum.
Stone Meaning: Selenite is traditionally associated with clarity and intention.
A selenite plate makes a clean, bright base for a crystal display. To keep a sphere steady on top, set it in a stand first; our crystal sphere stands and holders come in wood, metal and clear acrylic styles.
