Sixteen polished agate druzy cabochons, every one with its own sparkling crystal pocket, come together here as a ready made supply for pendants.
This lot runs from about 1.5 to 2.375 inches long and 0.75 to 1.5 inches wide, which suits elongated pendants, wire wrapped drops and bolo or statement pieces. Each is a natural freeform agate, shaped and polished to a bright shine, some pure chalcedony and some with agate banding, in the stone's own browns, grays, whites and blacks. The flat backs make bezel settings and glue on bails simple. Beyond jewelry, they look good in a shadow box or a cabochon collection. One photo shows the lot next to a quarter for scale. You receive all sixteen cabochons shown.
The cabochons are about 1.5 to 2.375 inches by 0.75 to 1.5 inches and 0.25 to 0.375 inch thick. The lot weighs about 0.305 kilograms (11 ounces).
A cabochon is a stone that is shaped and polished rather than faceted, usually with a domed front and a flat back; the word comes from the Middle French caboche, meaning head. Agate is banded microcrystalline quartz, and druzy is a natural coating of tiny crystals that lines a cavity inside the stone. Agate is a hard, durable quartz, well suited to everyday jewelry.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
