Picture eight polished agate slices in gray, brown and translucent tones, grouped on a shelf or spread across a table as one matched display.
The slices work as a cohesive set, so they look intentional together rather than random, and each is polished to a smooth, shiny finish. Some have natural holes, which let light through and give you an easy way to hang them. They range from about 6.75 to 8.25 inches, so you can stack them by size, stand a few in a window or use them as coasters under candles and plants. Agate is hard quartz, so they handle regular use on a table. The stand in one photo is not included. They make a thoughtful gift for a new home, an office refresh or a stone lover. These are the exact eight slices shown.
The slices range from about 6.75 by 5.875 inches to 8.25 by 7.875 inches, each about 0.25 inch thick. The yardstick photo shows all eight for scale.
Agate is a translucent, banded form of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands form as silica is deposited layer by layer inside a rock cavity by groundwater of changing composition, and some cavities end up as geodes with a crystal center. Slicing the nodule thin and polishing both faces shows the full pattern, and because agate is hard quartz, the polish holds up well.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
