Apophyllite is known for its pyramidal crystals, and this large cluster shows them across a wide spread of points.
It is about 5 by 4 inches and 2.5 inches deep, so it is a sizeable apophyllite cluster for a display shelf or cabinet, and at about 395 grams it is still light enough to pick up and turn. Apophyllite grows in gas pockets in volcanic basalt, the same setting as zeolite minerals such as stilbite, which is why sellers and collectors group them together. Its glassy faces catch light well under a shelf or cabinet light. This cluster would suit a mineral collector, a new collection or a reading nook. You will receive the cluster in the photos.
This cluster is about 5 by 4 by 2.5 inches and weighs about 395 grams; a ruler photo is included.
Apophyllite is a group of phyllosilicate minerals that forms square, glassy prismatic and pyramidal crystals, usually colorless to white and sometimes pale green. It grows as a secondary mineral in gas pockets in basalt, often alongside zeolites such as stilbite, which is why the two names travel together. Jalgaon in India is one of the best known sources. Apophyllite is about 4.5 to 5 on the Mohs scale.
Stone Meaning: Apophyllite is traditionally associated with spiritual growth and inner peace.
