Not every shelf needs a giant pair of bookends. At 6 to 9 pounds for the pair, these black agate geodes hold a row of paperbacks or records neatly while staying easy to move around.
Use them on a desk, a nightstand bookshelf or a kitchen cookbook shelf, or give them to a student, a new homeowner or a book club friend. Each pair is cut from a single geode, so the halves mirror each other and nobody else has the same pattern.
You get both halves, weighing 6 to 9 pounds together. Each bookend is cut and polished by hand in Brazil. The black color is dyed, and height and shape vary from pair to pair.
Agate is microcrystalline quartz that builds up in layers inside rock cavities, and some of those cavities become geodes lined with crystals. Each geode for these bookends is selected from rough material, cut in half, polished by hand in Brazil and dyed, so every pair has its own pattern. Agate has a hardness of 7.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and harmony.
