Heat treatment turned this Brazilian amethyst a warm golden yellow, and left raw and unpolished, the chunk keeps plenty of natural texture for a shelf or desk.
It is rough and unpolished, so the crystal's natural character shows. Set it on a desk, an altar or a bookcase, where light can bring out the color. It is a cheerful gift for a November birthday, a new business or a friend who loves warm tones. This is the exact piece shown.
The chunk is about 5.5 by 4 by 4 inches. Its rough faces sparkle where the crystal catches light. Because it is raw, you get the crystal just as it was broken from the larger piece, with no cutting or polishing.
Citrine is yellow to orange quartz. Natural citrine color is the exception, and most citrine on the market is heat treated amethyst, much of it from eastern Brazil, which is why this piece is also sold as golden amethyst. It is a November birthstone.
Stone Meaning: Citrine is traditionally associated with abundance and optimism.
