Silky white selenite is shaped into this tall obelisk, about 74 to 82 millimeters high and 38 to 42 millimeters wide at the base, with a pyramid tip.
Set it on an altar, nightstand or bookshelf, or use it at the center of a crystal display. Its soft glow looks especially pretty near a lamp or window.
Selenite is very soft, so keep it dry, dust it with a soft cloth and handle it gently to avoid scratches and chipped edges. Each obelisk varies slightly in size and texture.
Selenite is a crystalline variety of gypsum, a hydrous calcium sulfate. With a Mohs hardness of only 2, it scratches easily and should be kept dry. Much of the silky white material sold as selenite is satin spar, the fibrous variety of gypsum.
Stone Meaning: Selenite is traditionally associated with peace and clarity.
