Opening a box of mookaite is half the fun. Inside are 24 rough stones in the earthy palette this Australian material is known for: mustard yellow and cream through mauve, red and deep burgundy. No two chunks share the same pattern.

Each piece measures roughly 36 to 47 millimeters long, a useful size for cabbing, tumbling, wire wrapping, craft projects, teaching collections or resale displays. Keep them rough for their natural texture, or use them as starting material for your own polished pieces.

About Mookaite

Mookaite is sold as mookaite jasper, but geologically it is a colorful radiolarite: a silica rock made from the skeletons of microscopic marine organisms called radiolarians. It comes from the Windalia radiolarite of Western Australia, and its colors range through cream, mustard, red, mauve and burgundy.

Stone Meaning: Mookaite is traditionally associated with grounding, adaptability and confidence.
