Golden Rutilated Quartz Tumbled Stone - Large, Polished

Hold this stone up to a window and the fine gold rutile needles inside the clear quartz come into focus.

Each large stone is polished smooth so the gold threads show from every side when you turn it in your hand. Use it in a crystal grid, a bowl of tumbled stones, a wire wrapped pendant or a small gift box. Some stones carry dense bundles of gold, others a few long strands.

About Golden Rutilated Quartz

The golden needles are rutile, titanium dioxide, which commonly grows as long, striated, needle shaped crystals. Groups of rutile needles are frequently found penetrating quartz, and the name rutile comes from the Latin rutilus, red, for the redder tones some needles take. Tourmalinated quartz is a close cousin with black tourmaline needles instead.
