Grape agate earns its name with tiny purple bubbles packed together in bunches. These are large specimens, up to 11.4 inches long.
Some carry green celadonite or white magnesio calcite, adding color and contrast. A cluster this size is a true showpiece for a mineral collection, a living room shelf or an office, and an unforgettable gift for anyone who loves purple.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Cluster 01 is about 9 by 6.5 by 4 inches, and cluster 02 is about 11.4 by 4.1 by 3.1 inches. Clusters with green show celadonite; clusters with white show magnesio calcite.
Grape agate is botryoidal, or grape like, chalcedony, colored purple by trace iron. It is not true agate because it lacks agate banding. It comes from the Batu Manakarra district of Sulawesi, Indonesia, a relatively new find, and has a hardness of about 7.
Stone Meaning: Grape agate is traditionally associated with calm and confidence.
