Metallic, earthy goethite and bright, glassy calcite make a striking contrast. Each one pairs the two textures in its own natural arrangement.
They are collector pieces with plenty to study, ideal for a mineral cabinet or a shelf where light can catch the calcite. A goethite calcite cluster is a thoughtful gift for a geologist, a rock hound or anyone drawn to unusual combinations.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Cluster 01 is about 3.5 by 2 by 1 inches and 80 grams; cluster 02 is about 6.5 by 4 by 2 inches and 425 grams. Each is one of a kind.
Goethite is an iron oxide hydroxide, the main component of rust, with a luster from dull to almost diamond like and a hardness of 5 to 5.5. It was named after the poet Goethe. Calcite is calcium carbonate with a hardness of 3.
Stone Meaning: Goethite is traditionally associated with grounding, and calcite with clarity.
