This green cubic fluorite cluster comes from the Lady Annabella Mine in Weardale, County Durham, a working specimen mine in the north of England.
Several large, translucent deep green cubes sit on a dark brown matrix, so the color really stands out. A specimen with a named mine locality adds real interest to a collection, and it displays beautifully in a lit cabinet or on a desk under a lamp. It is a significant gift for a mineral collector or anyone who loves green. This is the exact specimen shown.
The cluster is about 5.5 inches long, 3.75 inches wide and 2.5 inches tall, and weighs about 0.91 kilograms. It was collected from the mine's Bull Vein.
The Lady Annabella Mine is in Weardale, County Durham, England, in the former Eastgate Quarry, and has been worked by UK Mining Ventures since July 2020 for fluorite specimens. Fluorite is calcium fluoride, the mineral that defines hardness 4 on the Mohs scale, and it is known for crisp cubic crystals.
Stone Meaning: Fluorite is traditionally associated with focus and clarity.
