Want smoky quartz on the very dark side? These small Lemurian clusters run from deep smoky brown to nearly black.
Options 01 and 02 are longer, flatter clusters that lie neatly on a shelf, while 03 is the chunkiest of the three, deeper than it is wide. All show natural crystal points and textures, and the close up photo shows surface detail on the points. They are small enough to sit beside a monitor, in a windowsill row or on an altar, and the dark color looks sharp next to clear quartz or amethyst.
Lemurian is a market name for quartz with horizontal growth striations on alternating prism faces, first sold in the late 1990s from Minas Gerais, Brazil. Smoky quartz gets its brown color when natural radiation activates color centers around trace aluminum in the crystal.
Stone Meaning: Smoky quartz is traditionally associated with grounding and calm.
