This larger Thunder Bay amethyst cluster has the deep violet points and natural red hematite that northwestern Ontario is known for.
Its dense, well formed crystals have strong internal depth, and an Aura 23 coating adds a bright, reflective shine. At 8.5 inches long and over 7 pounds, it has real presence in a display cabinet, on a desk or as a living room centerpiece. It is a significant gift for a serious collector or someone who appreciates crystals with a known locality. This is the exact cluster shown. Thunder Bay amethyst comes from northwestern Ontario, a source that sets it apart from the Brazilian amethyst most people know.
The cluster is about 8.5 inches long, 6 inches wide and 4.75 inches tall, and weighs about 3.225 kilograms.
The Thunder Bay area of northwestern Ontario is a well known amethyst producing region, and amethyst is the official mineral of Ontario. Thunder Bay amethyst is known for red hematite inclusions near the crystal tips. This cluster is also finished with a thin metallic vapor coating called Aura 23.
