Purple amethyst and sparkling calcite druzy share this freeform cluster, so you get two crystal textures and colors in one natural piece.
Its rough, raw shape looks wonderful on a bookshelf, a mantel or a crystal altar, and the calcite adds bright contrast to the purple. Turn it in the light and you will find small pockets where the two minerals meet. It is a thoughtful gift for a February birthday or a collector who enjoys mineral combinations. This is the exact cluster shown.
The cluster is about 6.75 by 4.5 by 2.75 inches. Calcite is softer than amethyst, so the druzy areas need gentle handling, and small natural chips are normal on raw crystal.
Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz. Its color comes from trace iron exposed to natural radiation, and it is the modern birthstone for February. Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Zambia are among the largest producers.
Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
