This agate mushroom is carved from a flat piece of genuine agate, so its cap and stem show natural bands and patterns edge to edge.
Because it is cut from a slice, the mushroom has a flat profile that lets light and pattern show through the agate, and the banding on this one is its own. It stands nicely on a small easel, leans against books on a shelf or adds whimsy to a plant display. At about 4 inches, it is a fun size for a cottagecore shelf, a desk or a collection of crystal shapes. It makes a cheerful gift for a mushroom lover, a gardener or a friend who collects carvings. This is the exact mushroom shown.
The mushroom is about 4 by 4.125 by 1 inches. Look at the back view photo to see the other side.
Agate is a banded, translucent form of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands form as silica is deposited in layers inside rock cavities by groundwater of changing composition. It is hard and takes a high polish, which is why it has been carved into bowls, beads and ornaments for thousands of years.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
