Agate teardrops that stand on their own and still sparkle: these combine a druzy crystal cluster with a polished, flat based shape.
Each of these natural agate geodes has been carved and polished into a smooth teardrop with a flat cut base, so the polished agate outside frames a druzy crystal cluster in the center. The teardrop outline looks soft and finished, and it stands on its own on a shelf, an altar or a side table. Teardrop 1 is the tallest and slimmest, while 2, 3 and 4 are wider and deeper, with 4 the heftiest of the set. They make a thoughtful gift for a birthday, a new home or someone just starting a crystal shelf. You choose the exact piece from the photos.
Each numbered option is pictured on its own, so the piece you see is the piece you receive. Sizes run from about 4.875 by 3.625 by 1.5 inches for 1 to about 4.5 by 3.875 by 2.25 inches for 4. Look at the ruler photo for scale.
A geode starts as a hollow cavity in rock. Mineral rich groundwater seeps in and deposits silica in layers, forming the banded agate shell, and the last of it can crystallize as druzy, a coating of fine crystals that line the hollow. Agate is microcrystalline quartz, about 7 in hardness, so it takes a smooth polish.
Stone Meaning: Agate is traditionally associated with balance and stability.
