Small Petrified Wood Slices Lot - You Get All, Polished, Up to 2.5 In

Every slice in this lot began as part of a living tree before minerals slowly turned it to stone.

Each one is polished on the top and bottom, while the sides are left raw so you can still see the natural bark line around the edge. That mix of smooth polish and rough bark makes them good for wire wrapping, setting into pendants, scattering in a terrarium or arranging in a dish. The sizes vary from tiny to palm sized, which gives a jewelry maker plenty of options. They also make a small, meaningful present for a hiker, gardener or anyone who loves trees.

About Petrified Wood

Petrified wood is fossilized wood that keeps the three dimensional form of the original tree. It forms when buried wood is infiltrated by mineral laden water and its tissue is replaced, mostly by silica such as chalcedony or quartz. Trace metals, especially iron, give it most of its color.

Stone Meaning: Petrified wood is traditionally associated with patience and stability.
