About Polychrome Jasper

Polychrome jasper, also sold as desert jasper, comes from the coastal deserts of northern Madagascar and was reportedly discovered in 2006. As with all jasper, it is an opaque, fine grained form of silica; iron supplies the reds and browns, mixed with tans, pinks and purples. It takes a good, durable polish.
