Massive Tourmalinated Quartz Sphere - One of a Kind, 5.5 Inch

This massive tourmalinated quartz sphere holds its own from across a room, with black needles suspended all through the quartz.

Its contrast reads clearly from a distance and rewards a closer look, with rods and needles crossing at different depths. It looks right on a console, a coffee table, a study desk or a mantel, especially with side lighting. A piece like this suits a serious collector, and it makes a memorable gift for a milestone birthday or a new home. This is the exact sphere shown.

The sphere is about 5.5 by 5.5 by 5.5 inches. Look through every photo to see the inclusions from each side. Side lighting brings the needles forward.

About Tourmalinated Quartz

Tourmalinated quartz is quartz that grew around needles and rods of black tourmaline, the variety called schorl. It is a close cousin of rutilated quartz, which holds golden rutile needles instead, and the inclusions are what make every piece different. Both minerals are hard, and quartz takes a bright glassy polish.

Stone Meaning: Black tourmaline in quartz is traditionally associated with grounding and clarity.

Add a Sphere Stand

A sphere this size deserves a sturdy base that keeps it steady and shows it off. Browse our crystal sphere stands and holders and choose a metal or brass style sized for its diameter, or a carved wood stand for a warmer look.
