About Agate and Druzy

Agate is a translucent, banded variety of microcrystalline quartz. Its bands form as silica is deposited in layers inside rock cavities, and some cavities end up lined with druzy, a coating of fine crystals. Agate is hard, about 7 on the Mohs scale, and takes a high polish.
