Next to a laptop and a coffee mug, a desk crystal has to hold its own, and this sodalite tower does.
This sodalite tower point is compact, highly polished and smooth, with enough height to stand out on a desk without getting in the way. The blue is deep enough to read clearly against light wood or white walls, and every face shows its own natural shading. It is a good choice for a first sodalite piece, a coworker's farewell gift, or a quiet bit of color on a bedside table.
About Sodalite
Sodalite takes its name from its sodium content; this royal blue mineral was first found in Greenland in 1811. It became an ornamental stone after large deposits were discovered in Ontario, Canada, in 1891, including the Princess mine near Bancroft. It seldom contains the gold pyrite flecks typical of lapis lazuli, which is one way to tell the two apart, and most sodalite fluoresces orange under ultraviolet light.
Stone Meaning: Sodalite is traditionally associated with logic and truth.
