Sliced from amethyst stalactites, these small hearts are thin, flat and polished, cut one by one in Brazil. Six are available, and you choose the one you want.
A stalactite grows layer by layer, so a cross section can show rings and a core, and each heart carries its own pattern of purple and paler quartz. Compare all six hearts in the photos and choose by color, ring pattern or outline. Their flat profile makes them a natural fit for wire wrapping, pendants and other jewelry making, and a quarter in the photo shows the scale. About Amethyst Stalactites
Amethyst stalactites form inside geodes in volcanic basalt, as mineral rich water drips and deposits layer after layer around a core. Slicing one reveals concentric growth rings, with banding of chalcedony and amethyst around the core. They are well known from the mines near Artigas, Uruguay.
