Amethyst Cluster with Calcite on Metal Stand - Purple Geode, 7 Inch

Want an amethyst piece that is ready to display the moment it comes out of the box?

This purple amethyst geode section with calcite was hand picked for its sparkle and arrives mounted on a metal stand, so it presents its crystal face at an easy angle on a desk, a nightstand or a shelf. Calcite often forms later in the same geode pockets, and here it adds a second mineral among the purple points. At about 7 inches across including the stand, it is big enough to notice from across a room yet compact enough for a bookcase. Amethyst is the February birthstone, which makes this a thoughtful birthday gift as well as a housewarming or thank you present. This is the exact cluster and stand shown.

The amethyst and stand together measure about 7 by 4.5 by 6 inches.

About Amethyst with Calcite

Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation. Calcite, calcium carbonate, often crystallizes later in the same geode pockets, leaving calcite crystals perched on the purple points. Calcite is much softer than quartz, 3 on the Mohs scale, so those areas deserve gentler handling.

Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
