Amethyst Crystal Cathedral Geode, Wide 17 x 13 In - One of a Kind #17

Big rooms, lobbies and statement corners call for an amethyst cathedral sized to match. This one is both tall and wide, so the crystal opening has real presence.

Like every cathedral, it is a tall section of an amethyst geode cut so the crystal lined hollow faces out, with a cut base so it stands upright on its own. What sets this one apart is its width: about 13 inches across against a height of about 17 inches, so the crystal opening reads from across a room. Place it on the floor beside a fireplace, in a reception area, at the end of a hallway or on a low, sturdy console. It is very heavy, so choose its spot before you unpack it. Amethyst is the February birthstone, and a cathedral this wide is a fitting way to mark a business opening or a move into a bigger home. This is the exact cathedral shown.

The cathedral is about 17 by 13 by 7 inches.

About Amethyst Cathedrals

An amethyst cathedral is a tall section of a geode, cut so it stands upright with its crystal lined hollow facing out. Amethyst is purple quartz colored by trace iron and natural radiation, and large amethyst geodes are mined mainly in Brazil and Uruguay.

Stone Meaning: Amethyst is traditionally associated with calm and balance.
